What is the City Dreaming? is a continuation of Rebecca Krinke’s Dream Window, a surreal bed suspended high over the Mill City Museum Ruin Courtyard for Northern Spark, an all night arts festival in Minneapolis. Translucent layers of bedding illuminated from within - with hints of black feathers and straw created a place and object of wonder (with a dash of terror). During the event on the ground below, Rebecca invited Northern Spark goers to contribute a dream (or nightmare) for a collective “dream book” that she and her team sewed together through the night. Almost 500 dreams were collected and sewn to eachother to create a wall installation and displayed at Rosalux Gallery as an installation titled “What is the City Dreaming?”.
